It is probably no exaggeration to say that 90% of travelers to Ethiopia base the bulk of their itinerary around this circuit, and rightly so. There is nothing in sub-Saharan Africa that prepares the visitor for the wealth of historical and cultural treasures, both ancient and living, contained in northern Ethiopia. The circuit pivots around four cities, all very different from each other, Bahir Dar, Gondar, Axum, Arbaminch, Jinka, Turmi, and Lalibela.

Day 3: Fly to Lalibela and Visit Lalibela

Catch a morning flight to Lalibela. We will pick you up from the airport and take you to the first compounds of Lalibela rock-hewn churches, and afternoon you will visit the second compounds of Lalibela rock-hewn churches.

Day 4: Visit the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela
Rock-Hewn Churches of Lalibela
Stop: 5 hours – Admission included
Early morning after breakfast, you will be at one of the main churches of Lalibela to attend the religious ceremony where many Local people gather on Saturdays and Sundays to attend the Sabbath Festivity and say their prayers. Then proceed to Lalibela Airport for your return to Addis Ababa.

Day 5: Fly from Addis to Arbaminch – South Ethiopia
Dorze Village
Stop: 6 hours – Admission included
Form Arbaminch proceed driving to Dorze, set in the highlands above Arba Minch. The Dorze people are known for their tall beehive-like houses and their fine cotton weaving. You will visit the village and learn about the daily lives of these industrious people. If today is market day (in Dorze village on Monday and Thursday and in nearby Chencha on Tuesday and Saturday), that will be visited.

Day 6: Boat trip in Lake Chamo and proceed to Konso
